“Giro d’Italia. Dreaming in Pink” is a docuseries produced by Filmmaster in collaboration with Media Partner RCS Sport & Events, offering a cinematic and contemporary perspective on the magic and tradition of the Giro d’Italia, one of the longest-running and most iconic sporting events in Italian culture.
Five episodes unfold as a journey inside the competition and across Italy itself: a compelling and emotional story of the race experienced from within, captured in real time through the eyes of the protagonists battling on the roads of the 108th edition. The docuseries celebrates the Giro, its history, and the country, while conveying the true intensity of the sport: the effort, the strategy, and the adrenaline. Stage after stage, riders tackle iconic climbs and legendary locations that trigger narrative flashbacks built from archival footage, bringing past champions and historic feats — from Pantani to Fondriest to Moser — back to life and weaving them into the present-day race.
The race becomes a whirlwind of emotions and unexpected twists. The fight for the Maglia Rosa evolves into what appears to be a head-to-head duel — a generational clash between young Isaac Del Toro and veteran Richard Carapaz. Their battle remains open on every climb until the decisive ascent of Colle delle Finestre, where a dramatic twist reshapes the destiny of the race. Around them, champions such as Primož Roglič, Juan Ayuso, Giulio Ciccone and Simon Yates compete across iconic Italian landscapes: from the trulli of Alberobello to the Naples waterfront, from the Leaning Tower of Pisa to the white roads of Siena and the finish in Piazza del Campo.
The story continues across the great mountains of Giro history — Bormio, the Mortirolo, Colle delle Finestre — where legendary pages of cycling were written. After the final twist, the race concludes with a visual triumph: a springtime Rome welcomes the riders in a spectacular finale that, for the first time in history, leads the Giro to the Vatican, where the new Pope Leo XI greets the athletes in St. Peter’s Square. A docuseries that celebrates the Giro d’Italia not only as a sporting competition, but as a collective narrative capable of showcasing Italy’s landscapes, culture and heritage, bringing the Corsa Rosa from Italy to the world.
