Filmmaster wins Cannes Lions
with "Technics Hi-Fi Stereo" Panasonic

In 1988 Filmmaster produced a memorable spot for Panasonic, and won Bronze Cannes Lions. The commercial features a little dog named Dick, who serves as the subject of this "loyalty test," playing on the double entendre throughout the entire spot. Given that a dog is the main character, one would anticipate a demonstration of the animal's loyalty to its owner. However, the twist unfolds as it is revealed that the true loyalty, or rather high fidelity, lies in the Technics stereo system. By broadcasting the owner's voice, it cleverly deceives even the keen hearing of the adorable Dick.
