The project

Becoming Maestre is a mentoring and development programme promoted by Netflix and the Accademia del Cinema Italiano - Premi David di Donatello. Created in 2021, the initiative aims to boost the presence of women in key creative and technical roles in the audiovisual industry.
Twenty-five emerging talents have followed a tailored path of training, guided by ten experienced mentors through workshops, one-on-one coaching, masterclasses, and hands-on activities. For the fourth consecutive year, Filmmaster has overseen the organisation of the programme: the final event, held at Casa del Cinema in Rome, has consisted in a special ceremony with the screening of the short films, the announcement of the selected winners and the awarding of diplomas.
A project that champions inclusion, empowerment, and a more diverse future for Italian cinema.
